CE Pro: What would you say to dealers who are already familiar with your product line?

McKeague: As any dealer we have worked with knows, Peerless-AV’s top priority is to “Get It Right” for you and we carry that mission in everything we do – from our digital signage solutions to our wireless products to our outdoor TVs.

CE Pro: What would you say to dealers who are stumbling across your company for the first time?

McKeague: At Peerless-AV, our motto is to “Get It Right” and we do whatever we can to help you deliver the best outdoor A/V solutions to your customers. Our outdoor TVs are completely customizable, with the highest IP rating and operating temperature around. With all-aluminum construction providing the ultimate defense against weather, discoloration and impact, and an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust brightness, there is no other option.

CE Pro: Tell us about one particularly interesting installation of your product.

McKeague: For the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), the second largest rail transit system in the U.S., we implemented 110 Peerless-AV Xtreme 47” digital signage displays on indoor and outdoor kiosks across all of the rail transit system’s 88 stations. Our displays share information including real-time service disruption updates. We are currently working with WMATA to support its digital signage needs for a recent expansion to its transit lines.

CE Pro: Besides the usual, what really specific thing differentiates you from your competitors?

McKeague: What truly sets Peerless-AV apart is the features of our outdoor TVs. Our UV2 Outdoor TV is the only truly weatherproof and maintenance-free outdoor TV on the market. An all-season solution, our UV2 TV has the highest IP rating and operating temperature compared with our competitors. Our UV2 TV has protective glass in front of the LCD panel and can be mounted near a fireplace or water, too.

CE Pro: What’s the best outdoor sales tip/tactic you’ve come across?

McKeague: We offer products on test to companies that are considering the purchase of one of our solutions, allowing them to physically evaluate and compare the product. For one company, we even painted a mount to fit their specifications so they would see how it looked with their other products.

CE Pro: What one technical tip can you offer about outdoor installations?

McKeague: One important thing to know when discussing outdoor installations is the difference between weather-resistant and weatherproof. Weather-resistant TVs can withstand typical inclement weather such as rain or snow while weatherproof TVs can be completely submerged in water and come out working fine. Not knowing this can be a mistake.

CE Pro: Where do dealers typically get tripped up on outdoor installs?

McKeague: Dealers get tripped up with determining the correct installation location, especially if the outdoor TV is not weatherproof. This limits the installer’s ability to provide the homeowner with what they want. With our UV2 TVs, installers can mount them anywhere – helping them Get It Right for their customers.

CE Pro: Where is your personal favorite place to be outdoors?
My personal favorite place to be outdoors is on the golf course. I get to enjoy the weather while still doing an activity. In addition to playing golf, I also like to watch it. With our outdoor TVs, I can still enjoy the outside and not sacrifice my interests.
