Pro Audio Associates Cooks Up LG Ultra HD Business at Open House
PAA’s Lew Freedman, with the 84-inch LG Ultra HD LED TV, says the open house is a culmination of the distributor’s fiscal year.
“We get the entire LG line every June so we started this just as a way to let dealers come in and see the entire lineup,” says Lew Freedman, principal at PAA. “We decided that instead of showcasing just LG, why not see it all. We get about 20 to 30 vendors each year who support this event. They send their sales team and trainers, along with regional reps. Everyone gets to interact. It helps make the dealers aware of us vs. the other guys.”
Vendors in attendance included LG, Sonos, Peerless-AV, Triad, Bose, Atlantic Technology, Proficient, Active Thermal Management, JVC, Bell’O, URC, Transformative Engineering, SpeakerCraft, Onkyo and Parasound. Freedman admits that LG, and now Sonos, are still “the big draws.”
Indeed, LG showed off its new 84-inch LED Ultra HD TV (84LM9600) with a stunning demo content that included aerial scenes of Europe, and 3D scenes of juggling. Integrators were literally sitting mesmerized by the content with a full 2160p x 3840 picture consisting of 8 million pixels. LG will be unveiling a 65- and 55-inch Ultra HD sets in August. No price points have been set yet.
This year’s open house was not marred by rain as it has been in the past few years, so attendees could enjoy the outdoor barbeque under the shade of a big tent.
For PAA, the event culminates its fiscal year at the end of June and makes it the distributors best sales month of the year annually, according to Freedman.
